Dawn is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LPC-MH), who earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern State University. She has worked with children, adolescents, and families in the Aberdeen area since 2009 in a variety of settings from Community Mental Health, Residential Treatment Facilities, Foster care programs, and Early Childhood programs. She works with all ages with issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life stresses, divorce reactions, bullying issues, grief, anger management, and parent/child relationships. She utilizes a variety of modalities based on each individual and family’s needs, including CBT, EMDR, Play Therapy, and Sandtray. Dawn is a Love and Logic Facilitator and offers family and individual classes on Parenting the Love and Logic Way. Dawn also incorporates faith and spirituality into sessions for individuals who desire. 

 

Dawn desires to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to feel comfortable and begin their healing process. Her goal is to help others find strength and empowerment through finding connection to self and others, provide hope and help, and assist in the development of skills to overcome life challenges. 

 

Dawn has two handsome, energetic, fun, creative boys who keep her active. In her free time, she enjoys family activities of mini-golf, camping, bike riding, sports, swimming, and board games. Faith in Jesus is an important part of her life and family.

 

Dawn is based in Aberdeen, SD and is licensed in South Dakota. She is currently offering in-office and telehealth counseling.
